Why not join Amanda, Geoffrey and myself on a tour/cooking school of Provence? Every summer, usually June and early July, Geoffrey and I take small groups with us to the South of France where we base ourselves in Amanda’s 18th Century maison for two glorious weeks of food, wine, sunshine, companionship, touring, partying. Amanda lives permanently in the South of France in this gorgeous property.

It is a big property with two houses at the top and Amanda’s apartment at the bottom. The terraces overlook the pool. We take many of our meals on the terraces and many below beneath the vine-covered pergola by the pool. It is quintessensially French.

The maison is in the tiny village of St. Maximin right in the middle of orchards and vineyards. The village has a delightful atmosphere with typical French stone houses, a beautiful church, a town hall, a wonderful little cafe.

St. Maximin is an hour from all of the famous Provence towns and icons. Uzes, a beautiful medieval town just five minutes away, is home to one of the livelest and most colourful markets in the South of France. We explore the markets, visit nearby medieval towns, take day trips to Roussillon, Gordes, Les Baux de Provence, Arles, Avignon. We take care of everything for you. With Geoffrey driving our air-conditioned mini van, me guiding you and Amanda taking care of all the visiting chefs, souring good non-touristy restaurants and wine producers and organising the beginner’s French lessons. Amanda is legendary in the area, knows everyone, and has access to people/places you would never normally get to see. We party a lot, so be prepared to dance and sing in the evenings.
